Julia Gensel

After a shoemaker apprenticeship at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Julia Gensel went to London to study at the renowned Cordwainers College, shoe and accessoires design. Jimmy Choo, Emma Hope and Patrick Cox have also learned their craft there.

With internships at 'Think!' (Austrian Comfort Shoe Company) and at 'John Lobb' (the 'Queens' Shoemaker) as well as in the position of Senior Designer at 'Tods' in Milano and 'Unützer' in Munich, she was able to gather enough experience to start her own label.

Slippers for the home have already attracted her interest during her time with the Opera in Munich. Since she could never find the right pair of slippers for her home, she started to develop her own concept.

The ideal slipper should be: light, soft, cuddly, quiet and of course super comfortable as well as look great.

To recreate the glamour of the old Hollywood and turn every woman in a diva - the idea of pampuschen was born!

Julia Gensel is living with her husband and her three children in Munich, Germany.
